2 novels

The work of Tara F. Sering –“Reconnaissance”

This chick literature she wrote was incredible. It really got my attention not hesitate to read it cause it made me thought that I was just reading a very long ladies confession on an FHM Magazine. It’s really interesting how she used the idea of settings like mostly common hang out place of Makati people. Malate, CafĂ© Havana , Tagaytay , et cetera. Plus , the style how she resolved the problem is like watching Bea Alonzo trying to recover from a break up. The way she wrote about the steps to forget the guy by dating other people is also well known so I can definitely relate to that. The story was “urban” and the situation is super realistic.

The work of F.H. Batacan - “Smaller and Smaller Circles”

To think that this is one of the few crime fictions made in the Philippines, I was not contempt how the story goes. The start was catchy for the readers since the event is something unlikely to happen. And during the investigation, it feels like the author was already giving away who was the suspect in the story. Also, there were parts that they were speaking in a different language and without a clue what they are saying. I believe it was really not necessary since I thought that the writer was bragging that he knows other language and use it to the story to make it colorful. I really found the story just “satisfactory”.

gender!! which is inferior, which is superior?

Man being authoritative and woman being a hold up. I don't think so. Yes, back in the past many different countries around the world are that female can’t join in anything. They were just housewife. Even the great nation had this observe. Nation such as America and Europe during there days where they travel only with a wooden ship. (1800’s) And this can be seen in movies like the “Prestige” or “Patriot” , it shows there that the role of a woman is merely staying at home, raising children and shopping for food.. But a point came that woman fought their civil rights. Women can’t work nor take part in an election during 50's or 60’s in America. The matter Facts about superior and inferior.

Now in the present when all conflict has now been resolved between men and woman, I really do think that women can do mostly everything what men can do. Like bodybuilding!

Seee... women can be really frightening now.

But aside from that, yes, women now have rights. Nowadays, it really doesn’t matter anymore weather your boss is a man or a woman. Both can have titles of profession like doctors, lawyers, engineers and et cetera.

generation

Well, the story was a bit disturbing for me comparing the story to my life, when we have problems, this can be resolved by talking to one another or asks help to a profession. Well, life is different since I really think low class and middle class have different level.

But I can really think that it’s possible in real life to kill a father if he couldn’t become aware of the situation his daughter has gone through. Sure, she was harassed by police just to set your father free, and by that, for a woman, you’ll feel so unclean inside. It’s like a scar that you’ll be caring for the rest of your life. Then after that, when your father is released, he'll act like nothing occurred at all. If I was in her position, I’ll be in a boiling point that I may also harm someone.

A lot of these cases can be seen in "Maalaala mo kaya". People wouldn’t kill someone without an explanation (exclude the druggy) and because of poverty and how people make their life devastating, they will do foolish act like rape, steal, or other alternative crimes.
